General Information

Situation
A small country between Brazil and Argentina. The general character of the land is undulating, with little forest except on the banks
of its rivers and streams. More than 500km. of coast with beautiful beaches.
Weather
Temperate, agreeable. Summer: from November to April. Average temperature 21ºC/27ºC Winters: mild. Temperatures very rarely falll
below freezing.
Average temperature 10ºC/16ºC Irregular dry periods
On average 120 days of sunshine per annum.
Rainfall averages about 1200mm per annum with May and June being the wettest months

The People
The majority are of European origin, which makes them open and kind to newcomers.
The country in itself, its calm cities and its fields will make your stay a pleasure.

Activities/Attractions
All Uruguay is like a nature reserve for biking and trekking surrounded by nature.
Ideal base for fishing, sailing and aquatic sports or simply to relax on a quiet beach or take a "siesta" under the trees.
If you are interested in wine, there are many small vineyards, some family owned, for you to visit.
